i tried to make it clear that when i’m criticizing makeup i mean everyday makeup like girls feeling the need to use concealer/foundation/mascara to feel pretty based on societal standards, my criticism is that everyday makeup like that isn’t inherently self-expressive or creative and the makeup industry shouldn’t promote the idea that it is bc saying that applying concealer is just self-expression implies that everyday makeup is an overall positive thing when it was built on women's’ insecurities, everyday makeup and artistic/high-fashion makeup are different things in my opinion
